borough market;

On the 20th September, my Graphic Design class visited the Southbank in London, here we went to Borough Market and was firstly given a brief by the communications manager who works for Borough Market. This made us aware of the type of customers that go to the market, whether they are local or not. This gave us an insight of the type of audience we need to focus on and attract. After the brief we had the chance to look around the market. This gave us the chance to see all the multicultural foods, a chance to chat with the locals and the dealers, and also a place to take photos of exotic fruits, alcohol, cakes and many more.

website design;

Today, I learnt about website design. This included all the basic information in creating a professional website. These bits of information included tags and key codes which allowed us to change colour, font and size of the font, change the layout of text, add pictures and create hyperlinks to other images or pages.

definitions:

HyperText Markup Language (HMTL): is a standardised system for tagging text files to achieve font, colour, graphic and hyperlink effects on World Wide Web pages.

'h1': stands for the heading of the website.

'h2': stands for the next heading (subheading). etc. H3, H4, H5...

'p': stands for the paragraphs.

'a': is anchor, which links pages together. basically a hyperlink tool.

'a href': is a reference on where the link that has been created will take you.

'img src': adding an image to the webpage.

This is my website when i have deleted the style. (colour, font changes and layout)

This is my website as a whole.
Includes my photo, hyperlink and style.

poster for peace one day;

We were asked to look into the foundation 'Peace One Day'. The founder of this foundation is Jeremy Gilley who has this mad idea that all war, violence and bullying will stop on this certain day. Once this day has been successful he seems to think that we could do two days of 'happiness, peace and love'. *yawn*. Does Gilley really think that everything will stop for this certain day? i doubt it very much. I personally think that Gilley has to wake up and realise that not everyone is in some sort of deluded state that he is currently living in.

Anyway, these are my three posters that i created for this 'fantasy' event.

alex grey;

Starting to look into art which is under the influence of drugs. These pieces are done by Alex Grey. I've only just stumbled across his work but i find it soo good!!
He is known for taking LSD and Cannabis.

This is one of his pieces showing the Goddess, Cannabia. He shows her body intoxicated by cannabis, using a weed leaf as her heart. Also Grey uses subliminal messages in his work. His recognisable logo is in fact a satanic sign, which uses a triangle with an eye in the middle. This is the Eye of Horus and also represents the Illuminanti.

This is another piece of his work. here he uses what looks like a holy image but it is actually riddled with satanic signs. One of these signs is inprinted onto his throat. This is the satanic star which is the star of david within a circle. This is another illuminati sign, put there to create a subliminal message.

WIERD SHIT!!

my progression;

When this final year comes to an end, I'm drawn between three places to go. I'm still unsure if i do want  to attend university, stay here at Canterbury College or maybe even take a year of to do things I've never really had the time too.

At the moment I haven't actually looked at any University's. I know I should do this soon as I will have to start applying for certain ones. If I did go Uni then I would probably stay local to where I live. So my only main option is the University Of Kent. I want to stay local so that I'm still near all my friends and family. Also I know that I will have no financial difficulty, as I will still be living at home and not on my own where problems could happen. University is playing on my mind at the moment as my mum really wants me to start looking. I know I need to do this but I don't really know where to start looking, other than Canterbury.

I've also been thinking about staying on at Canterbury College and continuing with Graphic Design on the higher course to achieve a Higher National Diploma. This was my first choice and decision when I was asked what I'm doing when this current course finishes. This would be fine for me to travel to as I've been coming all the way to Canterbury since the start of Year 7. The only thing that is making me think hard about this is that maybe I want or even need a change of scenery. Its been the same shit but different days, always travelling to Canterbury for my education, I might as well live here.

I've also been thinking of taking a year off to get main things sorted. I would like to get my driving out of the way and have enough money to have a car. This sounds stupid as I could do this when Im not at college, but having a part time job with quite a bit of hours is harder than you think. If I did less hours at work to do my driving in my spare time then I wouldn't have the money to pay for lessons, theory, test, car, insurance, tax etc. I would also like to do what my cousin did, which was a holiday rep in Magaluf  over the summer. This would give me the chance to earn extra money, whilst having a mental time out there! I would also like to travel to Australia and New Zealand, and have a year off doing extreme sports and just getting away from education and having my own little adventure.

I don't really see this as a year off, I see it more as a break as I've been stuck in school from the age of four and just want to be able to do things on my own away from rules and deadlines.
I've always wanted to do extreme sports like rock climbing, bungee jumping, sky diving and many many more. Where else would be better than Australia and New Zealand for these things? Absolutely sick scenery and best of all the chance to have an adventure.
